resume

Since my first job in high school working retail at Ulta, I've worked in event coordination, nonprofit, music business, recruiting, medical office management, and a fitness start-up.  My varied experience has allowed me to work with people from every industry, and I've learned so much along the way about business, marketing, and management strategy.

Here are a few tidbits of my previous experience not included on my resume.

+ I helped start the Malibu Farmer's Market as an admin assistant for The Cornucopia Foundation. I attended City Council meetings, fought for signatures in a parking lot against the competing market foundation, and helped recruit vendors for the market opening.

+ As an intern at Spaceland Productions, I learned the ins and outs of live music production. My favorite part about the internship was discovering new bands as I counted out their tax withholdings.

+ I chose to stay and take more classes over the summer at Pepperdine rather than going home to a humid Chicago summer. I spent those summers as a Conference Coordinator for Pepperdine, organizing hospitality arrangements for groups staying on campus for special events.

+ I'm a musician by night - my husband and I have a folk band. You can listen here.

+ While I was managing Urban Med, my boss opened Speedplay and asked me to help start it - overseeing everything from the buildout to hiring staff to marketing. I love the hustle of a start-up environment, and building a business from scratch has been the most rewarding thing I've done so far.
